Methodology

The process used in this project was largely facilitated by iteration. Each step of research acted as an experiment, and each experiment informed the final design. Beginning with a library of cinematic images, I manipulated them in an attempt to embody the viewer's perception or experience. By capturing the essence of each cinematic piece, I was able to create sculptural spaces that embody the work. This brought virtual motion into the physical space. In order to do so, I utilized three-dimensional drawing tools to create graphic objects and then projected the images into physical space or onto physical objects. In the end, these fully sensual sites generated a new cinematic vocabulary, forming my principle for a physically immersive experience.
