Opportunity Spaces
We revisited the research done last term and reviewed the interpretation of the research. We noticed that while the tweens had an extremely positive view of the future and their happiness in it, they were completely stressed out in their daily lives. As captured in their comments such as, "My curfew is at midnight when I'm not allowed to do anymore homework and have to go to bed."

We spoke with a child psychiatrist to find out more about stress in tweens' lives and discovered that tweens must navigate new responsibilities and greater pressures than past generations. They have expectations to grow up faster (brought on by media culture they're exposed to) and therefore they have less time to play and be kids.

We found the areas of stress as an interesting place to intervene. There was a void in their everyday experience which could be improved and it was a situation that is particularly unique to the current generation of tweens. We defined our grand strategy as follows: Help tweens alleviate stress in the lives by enabling them to be in the moment.
