ONE Lamp

To me, to achieve one's dream is to devote 99 percent efforts with one great idea. This was the essential idea for this design. In this exercise, I asked myself "What if a sketch stays in its 2-dimensional form, can I still make a product out of it?" Even thought to transform designs on paper to a 3-dimensional object was the fundamental rule for this class, I insisted the design stays in its flat form. In this case, the flat characteristic reinforced the shape of the light bulb (as well as the shape of the "one great idea"). I fell in love with this prototype from the beginning, but the only fly in the ointment was the light bulb still stay in its original form. I believe a flat light bulb might bring this piece to a completely different level.
