words with shadow

From the previous phase, it was found that shadows afford moments of legibility, narrative qualities, and feelings. Shadows can create multiple meanings in an object. The meanings are revealed depending on the time of day or angle of light. To further develop this idea, I picked the words “Love” and “Hate” to conduct form studies. In narrative context, “Love” and “Hate” exist together. I wanted to explore this idea through creating two different words from one object. Through the form making process, I found potential usage of layers to generate messages. Objects or shapes divided in two layers become readable images or text with projection through light.
