Retellings is an investigation of the ways in which we collect, save and share our experiences. It explores imaginative approaches to historical material to craft evocative content, multi-sensory spaces for narrative, and personal entry points into more universal topics to create experiences that spark a sense of empathy self-reflection in the individual and offer the community a sense of itself.

The case study outcome is a prototype for an exhibition entitled here|there that examines the stories of two families and their forced displacement in the United States. The exhibition integrates personal approaches to the challenging subject matter. Using audio, light, and physical movement, here|there is a multi-linear narrative space that enables participants to discover their own pathways through the material, encouraging conversation and serendipitous encounters both as individuals and a group.
