EXPLORATIONS IN MOVEMENT
My master's thesis is about
learned movement in performance.
I am interested in capturing
the ineffable, the experiential,
and the poetic. The study starts
out with broad research into what
has been done in archiving move-
ment
and leads into what is not
easily identified. This site is
about my preliminary research
into a rich area for a media
designer to intervene.
Throughout history, movement
has limited documentation,
fragmentation of technique from
teacher to student, and knowledge
is always in flux. Knowledge and
performance in dance, sports, as
well as martial arts can get lost
as movement is forgotten and
practitioners get old and die.
