As it became evident that storytelling would be an integral part of my project, and after my initial rounds of representing the stories, I wanted to find ways to put the collection of information together.
I used the form of a workbook (inspired by the 15th c. notebook) to record and curate my material in a more flexible manner. I could print, re-print, add, subtract and reorganize the material as I needed.
Collecting individual stories on a wall map revealed connections and paths between the information and also suggested how history is layered by both objective data and subjective interpretations.
Though another round of filtering seems necessary in order to make sense of the material.
I became curious in how these anecdotes communicate and contribute to a broader understanding of history.
