THREEDEGREES

Threedegrees Software Application Design, Microsoft - 2001-2002

Threedegrees is a software that connects a small group of close friends and family, people who know and trust one another, so they can extend real-world social interactions and do fun things together in a whole new way.

Threedegrees user experience was inspired by a research on the computing habits of the Net Generation, age 14-24, who have grown up using the internet. Having fun with friends is their no.1 priority.

People can create groups of up to 10 people, trade messages, listen to music from each other's collections and share photos. Each group has its own icon and allows members to have equal controls. Anybody can add new members, change the group icon, and start activities.

The goal of UI design was to create a playful and engaging social environment as apposed to productive.

A white paper was published for a workshop at the Ubiquitous Computing Conference in 2003.
