Food Allergies on the Rise

Collecting content - efficiently translating it into interactive media. How to use screen space - scale, perspective, motion, collapse, expand, hide, reveal information.
I think I can say that this was my first serious approach to consider a pile of information/data and presenting it in an interactive way.
By choosing the subject "food allergies on the rise" I further had the opportunity to not only deepen my own interest and personal experience with this matter, but tackle a subject that is very controversial and yet based on suspicion and not grounded facts. It was quite a challenge to find balance between the different facts and informations, especially considering the target audience. Do I want to talk to the people having food allergies or the once that don't...
You also have to keep in mind that data is a moving target - how do you build a representation of data that adjusts itself to new values all the time? In my case this wasn't a big issue, but still I think that is an important question to keep in mind all the time. During my developing process I looked at a lot of recourses, and inspiring ways to interactively portray information. One person has especially caught my attention "Jonathan Harris".

"Stories should have feeling to the extent that they want to be human... to make something beautiful, treat it like your lover - it has to be personal - it has to torment you... start to see the physical world through the lens of technology.
