I think I can say that this was my first serious approach to consider a pile of information/data and presenting it in an interactive way.
By choosing the subject "food allergies on the rise" I further had the opportunity to not only deepen my own interest and personal experience with this matter, but tackle a subject that is very controversial and yet based on suspicion and not grounded facts. It was quite a challenge to find balance between the different facts and informations, especially considering the target audience. You also have to keep in mind that data is a moving target - how do you build a representation of data that adjusts itself to new values all the time? In my case this wasn't a big issue, but still I think that is an important question to keep in mind all the time. During my developing process I looked at a lot of recourses, and inspiring ways to interactively portray information. One person has especially caught my attention "Jonathan Harris".
