DESIGNMATTERS FELLOWSHIP

This spring I had the opportunity to work at UNICEF Headquarters in New York City as a part of the Designmatters Fellowship. Designmatters sends students from Art Center to various UN agencies all over the world to participate in design interships.
I worked as an interactive designer in the Internet, Broadcast, Imaging Section of the Division of Communication at UNICEF. The division has been very interested in new media, researching ways to use technology to benefit the developing world. Being able to contribute as a designer in this environment was a great learning experience and it challenged and influenced my thinking in many ways. I was lucky enough to be able to work on an interesting project with One Laptop Per Child ($100 Laptop).
