The content that would be represented in our final informational design for this product was crucial for this project. We really wanted to boil the categories that were represented down to a point where a person that was shopping could get an efficient, clear, quick read on an item of clothing. It was important not to hinder the shopping experience, only to enhance it. It ended up coming down to three categories for the application that we designed for the shopper to use to "scan" a tag while in the store. The content that is generated from this read is broken down into three categories. The first category represented was environmental, which includes such factors as energy management, CO2 consumption, global warming and toxic waste. Second was ethical standards such as workers rights, fair trade and child labor. Third we wanted to give consumers the luxury of being able to see consumers reviews and customer satisfaction of an item in store with a read on quality standards and reviews.
After the consumer enters the dressing room to try on their piece of clothing they first set the device they had just used to scan on a shelf that projects their results in a more in depth manner on a screen in the dressing room. As the shopper tries on the clothing they will be able to see the top searches of data from the cloud on screen. They are also able to access their social network while in the dressing room by switching on a light above the mirror so their friends can comment on how they feel about the shoppers choice.
