The Drunk Stool is successful in creating an experience remarkably similar to intoxication for both the patron – direct sensory impairment, and the audience – watching someone stumble, even inducing peer pressure.

The mechanical design could be improved by attaching the Stool to the bar, as the Stool tended to drift when spun hard. The programming could also be improved, as the sobriety test would occasionally trigger before the patron had stopped spinning. Conceptually, the monitor could be integrated into the bar to simplify the experience, or placed in a way (behind the patron) to give prominence to the bartender's role.
