Translation of PSYOP's piece for MTV HD - this is an interactive flash piece it take time to load, please have patience

With this linear motion piece that PSYOP designed for MTV "translate the purity of music - into a moving picture" I set out to explore this idea further. I came to realize that this task is sheer impossible.
"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And a feather is all it takes to make me die laughing." Joseph DelteilThere is a different perception of sounds and colors, things that stimulate our senses, between cultures. In western culture the color red for example might be associated with love - writing another persons name in red - does this mean you love this person. While in China it has very negative connotations to write a persons name in red. Obviously, there are these cultural differences, but even within one ethnic group differences in the meaning-making process regarding music or color are crucial. We interprete sounds and colors, which are the most abstract forms of art, within a world full of different experiences. For each of us colors and sounds are mostly linked meaning wise to an instance, idea, episode or emotions of our individual and social past.
