Is this a design blog?
Looks like I haven't updated this sidebar blog for over 7 months. Yikes! School ends next week, so look for a new post then.

A few updates from game world.
Many commercials, tv shows, movies, et.al use the visual language of games, mostly with horribly stereotypical results. This Coke ad, made by W+K, is much smarter. It plays with the audiences expectation of games, in fact relying on the audiences familiarity with Grand Theft Auto to work.

This year an interactive work about the Columbine shootings was created. It ostensibly takes the form of a game, though a case could be made that is really interactive art—using the form and language of a game as an embedded critique of a situation. A truly controversial work that has the potential to be so much more than an exploitation piece. Wired has covered it well.

This one is a little older, but is considered one of the best video game commercials created.
