projects

project 1
Using only images (preferably those you at least in part generate yourself),
design something (a page, a poster, a booklet, a movie, a web experience--
any form determined to be within the realm of visual communication) that
renders an ordinary thing extraordinary. Through visual form only, no text,
no sound, no voice over.

project 2
Employ text, typography, image, composition, etc.
within an 11" x 17" format to communicate
HOUSE from four different perspectives:
{A} representatively
{B} sympathetically
{C} ambiguously
{D} arbitrarily

attempts 1 & 2

project 3
Find a 500-1000 word piece of hard news from an online newspaper (no commentaries,
puff pieces, or reviews.) This article's headline, dateline, and entire text is your material.
With this text you will design a response (i.e. a critical or sympathetic viewpoint) using typographic form as your voice: typeface choice, scale, structure, composition, hierarchy, format. etc. No images, no added text.

project 4
Dude. Design and present a 24" x 36" poster using whatever content you deem viable
to address what is cool. (Stoopid fresh wicked phat super awesome weepified cool.
Not to be confused with trendy.)

final project
Building from Project I, II, III, or IV, explore further the principles that were introduced. Develop (design) something that expands these basic ideas into a deeper investigation,
based first upon your interests, and secondly upon your skills (I recommend using this
as an opportunity to improve weaker skills.)
