Notorious
“Choose a notorious person. Create a spread and a bookplate.”
A few printing classes worked on the same subject " notorious" and at the end all the work was combined in a book, which can be purchased. The notorious person i choose "Robert Mugabe", maybe because i have been to Zimbabwe, maybe because this whole situation is heart breaking... i came across this one story of people eating rats.
I created the back pattern with wood blocks. I think I have about 5 different layers. I was a little bit gentle with my variation of blacks. If I would have added more yellows or blues for example to my blacks, there might have been greater depth in the background.
Just as silkscreening - it is so much, tedious work - but it is SOOO worth it, so rewarding.
