quickread
About
Project quickread is the brain child of a small team of media design students... who just happen to have an obsessive interest in the dynamic aspects of the written and spoken languages.
Pulling from backgrouds in landscape architecture, architecture, and motion graphics, the team strove to create an interactive book that could engage the user with the environment that surrounds him.

The platform quickread utilizes allows for a user to choose his level of involvement. Whether commuting to work and casually browsing or sitting at home and dissecting an essay, quickread provides an environment in which the user is constantly engaged through sharp image and type combinations.

The image based navigation bar at the bottom continually uploads content that is being generated by users in the quickread network. As imagery filters in, and the device is in passive mode, the image bar slowly alters to accomadate the most recent content, which can be interacted with by selecting a piece of media. The user can engage with comments and reactions left by others in his peer network.

Emphasizing the importance of context, quickread provides a secondary means of exploration, that of the world map which fills with golden nodes as people within the network upload content. Each node corresponds to media, providing the user a context that can be catered to multiple levels of understand (world, country, province, city). By creating a platform for social understanding, quickread seeks to give each user the opportunity to see the world through the eyes of others.

Selecting an image from the navigation bar gives the user the most in-depth look into the uploaded content. A dynamic right side bar contains user commentary that continually filters in with every additional interaction.
